Now more than ever, people around the world need to reconsider how we use and obtain our energy. Whether the perspective is environmental, political, or humanitarian, our current dependence on fossil fuels such as coal and oil is unsustainable.

SolarFest's mix of renewable energy and conservation education, sustainable community-building inspiration, and family entertainment serves a valuable function: to encourage people from all walks of life to think and act with greater respect for the common good.

SolarFest's Growing Regional Role

Over the past decade, SolarFest has grown to become New England's Renewable Energy Festival, a highly successful counterpart to the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in Wisconsin and Real Goods' Solfest in California. Thousands of people have attended our event to learn more about the positive benefits of sustainable energy production and consumption. Strengthening our offerings and our outreach takes more capital, more networking, more partners, and more sponsorships.

SolarFest 2010 promises to be another record-breaking event, with even more information and workshops on renewable energy and sustainable lifestyles. Attendees will meet vendors from many commercial areas: sustainable building, renewable energy, literature, agriculture and husbandry, green products, organic foods, and traditional crafts. Networking and learning opportunities abound.

Three days of dynamic and high-quality family entertainment will take place on our two performance stages, our "Theater in the Woods" sites, and all around the common grounds. Community participation is the foundation of everything at SolarFest, and so we encourage people with ideas for presentations or presenters to let us know by emailing us. We thrive on people power!

We deeply appreciate the generous response to our fundraising efforts throughout the year and to the continued donation of time, services, and goods by our many friends. SolarFest is truly blessed to benefit from the talent and support of so many people.

The Pitch

While we do our best to hold down the costs of the festival itself, the health of SolarFest relies on our ability to raise operating funds. Our annual campaign goal is $20,000 dollars. We welcome your tax-deductible contribution to SolarFest: Energy Education Through the Arts to help us reach this goal.
